I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Tammie Rabbitt and I am the Title 1 Reading Specialist at Buffalo Elementary. I have worked in the Freeport Area School District for the past eleven years. I will be working with students in Grades 1-6.
In grades 1-4, I will see the children several times a week for 30 minutes in the Reading Room and/or in class. Students in grades 5-6th will come to the Reading Room once a week during non-graded times such as band or chorus. When I visit classrooms, it will be to collaborate with teachers during reading groups and lessons. While there, I may work with small groups or teach a lesson to the whole class.
In the Reading Room, your child will have the opportunity to review tested skills and vocabulary, phonemic awareness and phonics, improve fluency and practice comprehension strategies.
